I own this book and it helped me a lot to identify the guns in my collection. Ball's book is well worth the money if you are interested in Mausers. Plus, I would not trust any Internet Web-site on identifying what you 7,62–43 (1953-1990s) = Crate marking indicating 7.62x39mm M43 Soviet (7,62mm vz. 43). Any ideas anybody? Mar 9, 2018 Hi just bought a Mauser at auction ( my first) and have little idea . it is chambered in 7.62 but none of the markings seem to tie up with ones i Jun 30, 2006 I have a Mauser K98 from 1934.

It is usually stated on the import stamp located along the barrel together with the weapon’s caliber, weapon’s model number and the year it was manufactured in. These markings are often used to identify surplus rifles.

I need assistance identifying the markings on Mauser HSc holster. Stamped in ink on the inside of the flap is: F.C. NSDAP Gau Hessen-Nassau 2930 Stamped into the leather is: 876 1034 On the top of the flap there is the shallow imprint of a Death's Head. The German bayonets were influenced by the French when they adopted bayonets. The basic rifle at the outbreak of the Great War 1914 was Mauser M1898. It was important for the Military to have equal length of rifle including bayonet as the main enemy – the French. The result was a long slender bayonet M1898.
